Audit and Management Advisory Services (AMAS) reports administratively through the Vice Chancellor for Resource Management & Planning and to the Chief Compliance and Audit Officer at the Office of the President.  AMAS has additional reporting responsibilities to the Board of Regents and the University President.  Locally, AMAS assists the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) campus and health sciences management in discharging their administrative, legal, and fiscal responsibilities by serving as an independent resource for conducting internal audits, advisory services projects, and investigations, as well as coordinating various external audit activities.  All audits are performed in accordance with standards for the professional practice of internal auditing promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
